A case of 'inciting' took place last night at about 10 p.m. at Belcher Street, West Foint. A District Watchman had arrested 2 men for disorderly conduct. A large crowd collected and one of the members of it (a Sanitary Board coolie) was taken into custody by a second District Watchman for shouting 'strike the District Watchman'. The 3 prisoners went quietly to the Station after being arrested. On the way there one of the District Watchmen was struck on the back by a stone thrown by someone in the crowd. Whistles were blown, and the men at No. 7 Station, who were just parading for 10 p.m. duty, turned out to the District Watchmen's assistance. On arrival of the Police the crowd dis- -persed.

16th. January, 1912:

Chinese Constable Chi Wing reports at 12 noon on the 16th. January that about 11.50 a.m. on the same date he arrested a hawker named Kang U for causing an obstruction at Queen's Road West near the Ko Shing Theatre. On being arrested the hawker refused to walk. A crowd assembled and some one shout-

-ed 'strike'. The constable then blew his whistle and the crowd dispersed. On seeing the crowd disperse the hawker came quietly

to the station.

28th. February, 1912:

P.C. 154 reports that about 5 p.m. 28th. February while the S. S. "Fatshan" was preparing to leave the

wharf at Canton an unknown Chinaman fired a shot from a revolver

at the Indian watchman on board. The Chineman fired from the

wharf and escaped. The bullet missed the watchman and lodged in

the woodwork of a cabin on the middle deck at the aft part of the

ship. No one injured.
